During the virtual technology tour, on Tuesday, April 13, exciting insights into the laboratories of Fraunhofer ISE await you.
Fraunhofer ISE, with a staff of 1200, is the largest solar research institute in Europe. In the lab tour during the CPV-17 conference, we will put the focus on our laboratories involved in the development of concentrator photovoltaic technology.
First, we will present a specially prepared movie. The video tells tell the story of how a FLATCON® CPV module is manufactured and characterized from the epitaxial growth of the solar cells to the outdoor rating of its performance. The journey begins with an introduction of the institute by one of its two leaders, Prof. Dr. Andreas Bett, and it is followed by a series of interviews with the experts at Fraunhofer ISE who work in the MOVPE, cleanroom and Con-TEC laboratories as well as in the indoor CalLab for PV cells and the outdoor characterization facilities for module testing.
In each interview, the experts will explain and demonstrate the main processes and methods used to enable the high performance that is expected of a FLATCON® module.
After the movie, experts from Fraunhofer ISE are available to answer your questions and discuss in a live Q&A session.
Therefore, make sure to tune in on Tuesday 13th of April at 15:30 (CEST) to join us in this very interesting virtual lab tour.
